Holinshed’s Chronicles

Raphael Holinshed

Smelling notes by Susie Flintham

When one reads a book on history, one finds oneself more transported into the history of the book itself is historical. Definite twangs of kingdom for a horse, with the unquestionable aroma of revolting peasants. The vintage is one of swathes of British history, embellished by Holinshed’s notes of a good story is better than fact. I recommend sampling with a traditional cheese.
